When it comes to our health, there’s a lot to do to keep in shape and feel great. There’s dieting, exercise, rest, etc. However, one facet of your overall health you may be neglecting, as many of us are, is your mental health. That’s right, mental health is sadly still unrecognized as being an important part of our overall health, but rest assured, poor mental health manifests as poor physical health, and vice versa. Therefore, you need to ensure good mental health to be in tip top shape. Here are a few ways to feel better today.

First and foremost, a vacation is a great way to rebalance the books, so to speak, when it comes to mental health. Taking a break from your day to day routine can really improve your mood and overall morale, which will in turn improve your health. So, don’t be afraid to let loose from time to time. However, without proper preparation, a vacation can, itself, be a source of undue stress, so plan thoroughly. For example, always have a monetary contingency. Be ready to have money wired to you via Western Union if things go awry. This will ensure you R & R will truly be restful and relaxing.

Another way to improve your mental health is to simply relax at home after work. For example, a nice, hot bath does wonders to rejuvenate your body and mind. This can be a time of quiet reflection, or you could add some music and a glass of wine to the mix. Either way, you’ll be feeling great in no time and ready to tackle work the next day. This is especially true when paired with a good night’s sleep, which we as a society don’t value nearly enough. A full night of rest is essential to feeling your best, be it mental or physical, or, as we discussed, both.
